Digital Marketing Intern – Work Experience

Type: Internship / Work Experience Placement

Duration: 4 Months
Start Date: Flexible
Pay: Unpaid – Voluntary Internship (work-experience) position however we will cover reasonable food and travel expenses. 

Exam Centre is offering a voluntary work experience opportunity for someone passionate about digital marketing and eager to contribute to real projects that actively drive business growth. You will work closely with a member of staff to support and deliver our digital marketing strategy, with a strong focus on increasing visibility, enquiries, and engagement.

This placement is ideal for students, recent graduates, or career changers who want hands-on experience across social media, SEO, content, and digital campaigns, while building a strong, practical UK based portfolio. A professional reference will be provided upon successful completion of the 4-month placement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and schedule regular social media content to increase engagement and brand visibility

  • Support off-site SEO activities, including backlink outreach, citations, directory listings, and keyword research

  • Assist with activities that improve search engine rankings and online presence

  • Contribute to website content, blogs, and SEO-driven articles

  • Assist with the setup and optimisation of paid campaigns (e.g. Google Ads, Meta Ads)

  • Support website performance and basic SEO improvements

  • Work in line with our internal marketing plan, with ongoing guidance and feedback from staff

  • Track and record activities and outcomes for use in your portfolio or case studies

Digital Marketing Support Officer

Exam Centre is seeking a Digital Marketing Support Officer to support their growing digital marketing strategy. You’ll help drive awareness of their City & Guilds Functional Skills Level 2 exams and increase exam bookings through content creation, social media management, and SEO initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and schedule content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Google Business Profile
  • Develop blog posts (2+ per week) focused on exam preparation, success stories, and learner guidance
  • Support development of integrated digital marketing strategy across multiple channels
  • Conduct off-page SEO research and recommend promotion opportunities
  • Create social media graphics, videos, and promotional materials
  • Assist with website content optimization and call-to-action improvements
  • Monitor analytics and provide performance insights
  • Ensure all content aligns with Exam Centre’s supportive, professional brand voice

Key Skills & Requirements

  • Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook)
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Understanding of basic SEO principles
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and analytics
  • Ability to create clear, engaging content for adult learners
